UNICEF Supports Reconstruction of 232 Schools in Afghanistan
Tawazon – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said that it has supported the rehabilitation of 232 schools across Afghanistan.
UNICEF’s representative in Afghanistan Tajudeen Oyewale said on Wednesday, May 6, that UNICEF and its partner organizations have also provided teaching and learning materials to around 4 million children.
He added that rebuilding schools is part of efforts to ensure children have access to safe learning environments.
“Every child deserves a safe place to learn and the tools to build their future,” he said.
Previously, UNICEF said in its annual report that more than 20 million people in Afghanistan, including 5.6 million children received support in 2025.
However, UNICEF notes that 2.2 million girls in Afghanistan are still out of school.
