UNICEF: Improving Child Nutrition Requires Integrated Health and Water Services
Tawazon –The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says improving child nutrition requires nutrition services to be delivered alongside water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs.
In a statement posted on X on Wednesday June 3,UNICEF said that combining nutrition and WASH services has a greater impact on improving the health and well-being of children.
The organization added that with support from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), health workers have been able to provide services to more than 678,000 people through 25 health facilities in Daikundi and Paktia provinces.
UNICEF emphasized that continuing these programs is essential fo improving the health and nutrition of children and families across Afghanistan.
