European Union Allocates Additional Cash Aid for Flood Victims in Afghanistan
Tawazon – The European Union’s humanitarian aid office for Asia and the Pacific has announced additional emergency assistance for communities affected by recent floods in Afghanistan.
In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, June 3, the organization said the recent floods have caused significant damage and further worsened conditions for affected families.
According to the statement, the European Union has allocated an additional €50,000 to support urgent humanitarian needs in flood affected areas.
The funding will be used to provide cash assistance, emergency shelter, safe drinking water and healthcare services to affected households.
The EU humanitarian office also noted that, following the recent floods, its total emergency assistance fo flood response in Afghanistan has reached €225,000.
The announcement comes as many communities across Afghanistan continue to recover from devastating floods that have claimed lives, damaged homes, and destroyed agricultural land in several provinces.
