Trilateral Meeting Between Kabul, Beijing, and Islamabad; Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Arrives in Kabul
Tawazon – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban announced that a trilateral meeting between Kabul, Beijing, and Islamabad will be held today (Wednesday, 20 August) in Kabul.
Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, has arrived in Kabul to participate in these talks.
It has been reported that Mohammad Ishaq Dar is also expected to meet with Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of the Taliban, to discuss bilateral issues.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, wrote on his X page last night (28 Asad) that today the China–Afghanistan–Pakistan trilateral meeting will be hosted in Kabul.
He stated that Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister, along with Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, will participate in the meeting.
Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan will discuss political, economic, and regional cooperation among the three parties at this meeting.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban said that China’s Foreign Minister will also hold separate meetings with several senior leaders of the Taliban to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and enhancing mutual trust.
The discussions at this trilateral meeting will focus on expanding cooperation among the three countries in the fields of trade, regional relations, and counterterrorism.
