TikTok Video Sparks Alarm; Afghan Man Arrested in the U.S. Over Security Concerns
Tawazon – U.S. authorities have arrested an Afghan man, Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, after he posted a TikTok video that appeared to show him making a bomb and identifying the Fort Worth area of Texas as a potential target, Fox News reported.
Alokozay was detained on Tuesday by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.He has been charged under state law with “making a terroristic threat.”
According to the report, Alokozay had arrived in the United States through Operation Allies Welcome, a program created for Afghans who previously worked with U.S forces.
Fox News reports that police documents indicate that the video raised serious public safety concerns. Homeland Security officials said immediate action was taken to prevent any potential threat and Alokozay was monitord before being taken into custody due to the content of the video.
