Taliban Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack
The Taliban has condemned the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of at least 26 civilians, including tourists. In a statement shared on Twitter, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed his condemnation and called the attack a setback for regional stability.
The Taliban-led Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi issued a statement on X (formally Twitter), “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan categorically condemns the recent attack on tourists in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir, and expresses condolences to the bereaved families. Such incidents undermine the efforts to ensure regional security and stability. ”
The attack, which took place on April 22, targeted civilians enjoying the scenic Pahalgam area, popular with both domestic and international tourists. Among the victims were two foreign nationals.
The Taliban reaffirmed its commitment to promoting stability and called on all parties to prevent actions that could escalate tensions in the volatile region.
