Taliban Executes Three Publicly in Badghis and Nimruz Under Qisas Law
Tawazun– The Taliban’s Supreme Court has announced the execution of three individuals under the principle of Qisas (retributive justice) in the provinces of Badghis and Nimruz. The executions were carried out publicly.
In a statement released on Friday, April 11, via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Supreme Court stated that the punishments were implemented following approval by the group’s supreme leader, Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada.
In Badghis province, a man named Sulaiman from Tagab district was executed for allegedly killing three Taliban members. Another man, Haidar, a resident of the Dara Boom area in the same province, was also executed on charges of murder.
In a separate statement, the court reported that Abdul Qadir, a resident of Zaranj city in Nimruz province, was executed on similar charges.
According to the Taliban, thousands of people and local officials witnessed the executions.
Despite repeated condemnations by international human rights organizations regarding the Taliban’s use of public and extrajudicial punishments, Taliban has escalated such practices. Critics argue that these actions violate international legal norms, while the Taliban claim they are enforcing Islamic Sharia law.
