Sources: National TV Journalist Killed in Taliban-Pakistan Clashes
Tawazon – Local sources report that Abdul Ghafour Abid, a journalist for the Taliban-run national TV network, RTA, in Paktia province, has been killed during clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistan.
According to the sources, Abid, along with his cameraman and driver, had traveled to the Durand Line area to report on Pakistani attacks targeting civilian homes when he was killed.
Sources add that the two individuals accompanying him were also injured.
Clashes between Taliban and Pakistani forces erupted early Wednesday in Spin Boldak district in Kandahar, where the Taliban officials claim 12 civilians were killed and more than 100 others wounded. Fighting has reportedly resumed in several provinces and is still ongoing.
