Death toll in Kunduz rises to 25: source
Sources in Kunduz Province have said that death toll from Tuesday explosion around 8:30 a.m. outside the Kabul bank branch in the province have risen to 25 with 30 others injured.
According to sources, among those killed was Zakarya, a Taliban security commander for district 4 police district.
Most of those killed were Taliban members, sources added.
Taliban officials in Kunduz have confirmed that the blast outside of the Kabul bank branch was a suicide bombing, adding it killed five people both civilians and Taliban members, and injured seven others.
The bodies of those killed, have been taken to the Taliban’s 217 Omari corps clinic, sources noted.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast
The attack comes weeks after the Taliban said to their members to avoid banks and collecting their salaries and instead use designation location.
