Taliban offers financial aid to vulnerable Afghans
Under the Taliban’s control, the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs (MoMDA) last year disbursed 11.1 billion Afghanis to orphans, widows, and the disabled through banking channels.
The ministry stated that the allocation was determined based on the number of widows, orphans, and the degree of disability, with each orphan receiving 2000 Afghanis per month.
According to ministry statistics, a total of 614,910 individuals, including families of soldiers from the previous regime, are registered as beneficiaries.
The ministry’s officials assert that the Taliban extends assistance to all orphans and widows without discrimination.
While some families express discontent over the allocated funds, the ministry assures that it will continue providing aid within the government’s means.
Moreover, it promises to increase assistance levels if economic conditions improve in the future.
