Taliban’s Central Bank Auctions $25 Million to Stabilize Afghan Currency
The Central Bank of Afghanistan, under the Taliban administration has announced that to maintain and stabilize the value of the Afghan currency, the bank will auction 25 million US dollar tomorrow (Wednesday, February 17).
Central bank has requested that qualified banks and exchange companies, as well as money service providers, participate in the auction.
The bank has stated that the winners of the auction are required to settle their accounts by end of the auction day.
In the past two weeks, the Taliban has auctioned millions of dollars to preserve the value of the Afghan currency, following the suspension of US aid to Afghanistan.
