UNAMA condemns attack on foreign tourists in Bamyan
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has unequivocally denounced the recent terrorist attack targeting foreign tourists in Bamyan, categorizing it as an act of terrorism.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, UNAMA expressed shock and dismay at the deadly assault on civilians and tourists.
In addition to extending heartfelt sympathies to the victims, UNAMA pledged its support for the investigation into the attack.
Concurrently, the Japanese embassy in Afghanistan also condemned the violence, emphasizing the urgent need to halt such atrocities in the country.
The attack, which occurred on Friday, May 17, in the center of Bamyan Province, resulted in the tragic deaths of three Spanish nationals and three Afghan citizens, with at least seven others sustaining injuries.
Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
