Afghanistan is a safe place for terrorists, US official says
Tawazon – Bill Huizenga, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee, has stated that Afghanistan has once again become a safe place for terrorist groups.
He expressed concern that these terrorist organizations are attempting to strengthen their power and capabilities in order to once again threaten regional and global security and carry out new attacks.
As examples, Huizenga named terrorist groups such as ISIS and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), saying that the threats posed by them have reached historic highs.
However, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban rejected these claims, asserting that the caretaker government maintains full control over all of Afghanistan and does not allow anyone to use Afghan soil against another country.
