Tariff War Between U.S. and China Raises Concerns Over Taiwan Conflict

Tawazon:  Tensions between the United States and China have intensified after Washington increased tariffs on Chinese goods by 145 percent. In response, China raised its tariffs on American imports to 125 percent.

Experts are warning that the ongoing trade dispute could escalate into a military confrontation, particularly over the sensitive issue of Taiwan, which remains a focal point of U.S.-China tensions. Chinese officials have stated their commitment to continue the standoff and have expressed readiness for conflict. The United States has also affirmed its preparedness to respond if necessary.

Analysts believe that China may resort to heightened military pressure on Taiwan through exercises, naval blockades, or indirect coercive measures to influence the United States’ position on the tariff issue.
