India Wins ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Dubai, March 9: India secured their third ICC Champions Trophy title with a thrilling four-wicket win over New Zealand in the final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Captain Rohit Sharma led the chase with a top score of 76 runs off 83 balls, helping the team successfully pursue the 252-run target with one over remaining.
New Zealand, after winning the toss, opted to bat and put up 251/7 in 50 overs. Daryl Mitchell was the top scorer for New Zealand with 63 runs off 101 balls, while India’s Kuldeep Yadav contributed with bowling figures of 2/40.
India’s response was anchored by a 105-run opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 34, steering India to victory with an over to spare.
This victory marks India’s third ICC Champions Trophy triumph, having previously lifted the trophy in 2002 (joint winners) and 2013.
