Foreign tourists killed, injured in Bamyan attack
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain has confirmed through Reuters that three Spanish citizens tragically lost their lives in an armed attack targeting tourists in Bamyan province.
Another Spanish national was also injured in the assault, it said.
Unknown gunmen launched an attack in the center of Bamyan on Friday, targeting a group of people, including foreign tourists.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that one Afghan and two foreigners were killed, while three Afghans and one foreigner sustained injuries in the incident.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly denounced the armed attack on foreign tourists in Bamyan, and has called it as an act of terrorism.
Nasir Kanani, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed condolences to the families of the victims affected by the incident, which occurred on Friday, May 17.
