Blast rocks a military center in Logar province
Reports from Logar indicate a powerful explosion has rocked a Taliban military center, “Shkar Kala,” located in Mohammad Agha district.
The nature of the explosion remains unclear, but sources confirm its intensity was such that windows and doors up to two kilometers away were shattered.
Shkar Kala, reportedly a key operational and training hub for the de-facto Taliban authorities, bore the brunt of the blast, awakening residents around midnight with its thunderous sound.
Locals reported hearing two successive explosions, resembling what they interpreted as an airstrike.
However, the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior Affairs attributed the explosion to the detonation of aged explosives in the vicinity.
Ministry spokesperson Abdul Matin Qani stated the incident occurred due to the negligence of one of their members, resulting in no casualties, albeit one injury from shattered windows.
Previously, during the Republic era, Shkar Kala housed the 444-commando unit, primarily engaged in combating drug trafficking, smuggling, and traffic-related issues.
