Israel Has Violated Ceasefire 47 Times; 38 Killed and 143 Wounded in Gaza
Tawazon – Gaza’s media office has accused Israel of violating the ceasefire with Hamas 47 times since the truce came into effect in October 10, killing 38 and wounding 143 Palestinians.
Clashes have continued in the Gaza Strip as both Israel and Palestinian groups accuse each other of violating the ceasefire. Tensions rose after the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that the Rafah crossing would remain closed until further notice, despite the Palestinian embassy stating earlier that the crossing would open today to allow the transfer of wounded individuals and Egyptian passport holders.
Hamas condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling it “an attempt to sabotage the ceasefire agreement.”
Benjamin Netanyahu meanwhile said the Rafah crossing, would only reopen after Hamas hands over the bodies of all deceased hostages still held in Gaza.
Authorities in Gaza called on “the United Nations and the guarantor parties of the agreement to intervene urgently to compel the occupation to end its ongoing aggression and to protect unarmed civilians”.
Meanwhile, the US President Donald Trump says the ceasefire in Gaza is still in place.
