Taliban Spokesman Confirms Comprehensive Ceasefire Agreement with Pakistan
Tawazon – Zabihullah Mujahid, Taliban spokesperson confirmed that negotiations between representatives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Pakistan, held in Qatar, have concluded with the signing of a bilateral agreement.
In a statement posted on his official X (Twitter) account, Mujahid expressed gratitude to Qatar and Turkey for their role in mediating and facilitating the negotiations.
According to Mujahid, both sides agreed to uphold peace, mutual respect, and good neighborly relations, and committed to resolving disputes through dialogue rather than conflict.
He stated: “It has been decided that neither country will undertake any hostile actions against the other, nor will they support groups carrying out attacks against the Government of Pakistan. Both sides agrees to avoid targeting security forces, civilians, or critical infrastructure of each other.”
Mujahid added that a monitoring mechanism will be established, under the mediation of intermediary countries, to review bilateral claims and ensure the effective implementation of this agreement.
According to reports, the second round of negotiations is scheduled to take place on October 25 in Istanbul, Turkey
