Taliban Denies Involvement in Balochistan Train Attack
Kabul – The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the attack on the Jaffar Express train in Balochistan, expressing sorrow over the casualties. This marks the Taliban’s first official response to the incident.
In a statement, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, dismissed claims by the Pakistani military that Afghanistan was involved in the attack. He urged Pakistan to address its internal security issues instead of making “irresponsible statements.”
Balkhi further stated that allegations linking Afghanistan to the attack are baseless. He said that Pakistan should focus on strengthening its security and resolving its internal problems rather than making unfounded accusations.
Additionally, Balkhi denied any presence of Baloch separatist groups in Afghanistan or any links between the Taliban and such organizations. He further stated that they were deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives in this attack. Targeting civilians for political objectives was unjustifiable.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stated in a press briefing in Islamabad that intelligence reports indicate the attack was planned in India and executed from Afghanistan.
